Improving educational opportunities in India for disadvantaged children
Helen was invited to talk to children at Marwood and Hutton Rudby Primary Schools. She was asked to demonstrate to the children how lucky they are to be in receipt of a good education. Helen showed photos of Roseberry School, Darjeeling and talked about a typical day in the life of one of its pupils, including the early morning walk up the road to fetch water for washing and cooking. The children were fascinated by the stories and are keen to do something to help.
Every donation helps SAI provide better facilities for our students, here are some typical examples of costs that we incur on a regular basis. We have six classes with 20-25 children in each class.
