Improving educational opportunities in India for disadvantaged children
On Wednesday 15 July 2015 at Christ Church in Great Ayton, the 100 Voices Four Choirs Big Summer Sing led by Jeanette Wainwright 'raised the roof' for School Aid India.
The programme which was a sell out, included many well known songs which had the audience tapping their feet and swaying to the rhythms. Every item was received with tumultuous applause.
All the proceeds from ticket sales were kindly donated to School Aid India. A grand total of £1345 was raised.
Special thanks to Reverend Paul Peverell and the PCC of Christ Church for providing the venue, Jeanette Wainwright and the Choir for a wonderful Concert, Jill Nichols a committed fundraiser for School Aid India, who organised the refreshments during the interval and gave a short speech about the Charity during the Concert.
School Aid India is extremely grateful to all who participated and helped to raise such a wonderful amount.
We are all looking forward to the next Concert.
Every donation helps SAI provide better facilities for our students, here are some typical examples of costs that we incur on a regular basis. We have six classes with 20-25 children in each class.
