Mitsy was inspired by seeing photos and hearing about the children at Roseberry School Darjeeling during a special India morning at Hutton Rudby Primary School. On the way home from school that day she told her mother that she was going to raise some money and send it to Darjeeling. Encouraged by her parents, she baked cakes and sold them at football matches in which her brother was involved and made loom bands which she sold at a fete. Some time passed before the donation finally reached us, and our secretary says it came as a lovely surprise. The delightful letter accompanying the cash showed Mitsy’s determination to help and made Helen’s day.
